“LIVE AT STUDIO5” JAZZ SERIES
SMALL-GROUP JAZZ IN AN INTIMATE SETTING
We are excited that our live jazz series is now located at Evanston’s new performing arts theater, Studio5. Studio5 is the fulfillment of a dream my wife, Béa, and I have had for many years: To create a space on Chicago’s North Shore that is suitable to present dance, music, and spoken word performances in an elegant, fully professional but intimate environment. Among other fine arts programming at Studio5 is the “Live at Studio5” jazz series, which is a continuation of the format we established with our previous “Live at the Whiskey Lounge” series, featuring jazz (primarily in small ensembles), with each show including an interview segment where we get to converse with the artists, learn about their craft, and invite questions from the audience. As before, we will record our shows for future broadcast and provide live video streams on our website whenever possible.
At “Live at Studio5” you will experience the same level of fabulous jazz talent you’ve come to expect at our other shows, but with state-of-the-art sound and lighting, your choice of cabaret or raised theater seating, excellent sight lines for all, an elegant bar, and ample free parking, all in a cozy, friendly setting.
